Wedding Date:  9.26.09

Brace yourselves, it’s gonna be a long picture-post (I was like a kid in a candy store photographing their wedding!)! I’m going to let the images speak for themselves because I feel there are no words to describe just how incredible their big day played out. A special thank you to Tiffany Ratliff and her team over at Weddings and the City. What an amazingly, delicious masterpiece you (and all of the vendors) created out of a blank canvas and $35K budget. As well, thanks to Steve & Garrett Michael for shooting with me on wedding day! Love YOU all!

WHAT A MOMENT!!! We are SO thankful to have been able to drop into Mez (last minute) to capture their FIRST LOOK! Weather played a role in our original idea, but we were thrilled with the turnout regardless. We were ALL crying. I also over heard the two of them say, “I’m SO GLAD we decided to see each other first!” Me TOO!! Makes for wonderful pictures!! Flowers provided by – The Place for Flowers.

A word from the bride, Lindsey –

“From our first meeting with KVP to the very moment when we received our wedding pictures…it has been nothing but pure wedding bliss for both my husband and myself. Her work is art, and what she captures behind that little lens of hers is beyond amazin! Everyone knows how unbelievable her work is and it simply speaks for itself! Take away the camera, take away the creativity, the person – Kristin Vining – has a heart full of love and a personality that is priceless!! It started with our eSession over milk + cookies and a remake of the movie Legend of Bagger Vance. Getting any man excited about taking pictures (which is out of most men’s element) was my biggest concern for our engagement photos, but leave it to KVP to bring JT’s inner actor out! Even he (after an early morning Bloody Mary) enjoyed every bit of posing for her camera, and I truly believe it was because of how calm KVP made both of us feel! Such a fun experience that day was! Our bridal portraits in Miami that both my girlfriend, Kristen Melrose and I got to share together with KVP was another memorable moment that I will never forget KVP did an incredible job capturing two girlfriends who were sharing the wedding bliss at the same time in their lives. We never felt so pretty!! Then the wedding day………….. words can’t describe how happy we are with our pictures. What KVP captured is true emotions that will never be forgotte! JT and I decided to see each other prior to the ceremony… it was just the 2 of us and our photographers. It was intimate! It was heartfelt! It IS unexplainable! And still looking back at those pictures brings tears to our eyes! The images that she captured between us are breathtaking and we couldn’t be happier. It was important that JT and I “clicked” with our photographer because to us memories are the most important things… and what better memory than a picture that you can glance at for years to come. Well…. The whole “click” terminology went to a completely different level, I now feel like through this journey we made a true lifelong friend. Lastly, if it wasn’t for KVP we wouldn’t have been introduced to her other company, Weddings And The City. Once meeting Tiffany Ratliff, I knew I had to hire their team!! She helped make our dream wedding a reality!! We love you girls, and THANK YOU! ~Love, Lindsey Regan Thorne”

A word from the groom, John –
“Working with Kristin Vining was a fantastic experience throughout our wedding process. Kristin takes such a unique approach to capturing the emotions and excitement of the wedding day that we felt as though we could truly open up to everything we were feeling without any hesitation. With each snap of the camera’s shutter, we had complete confidence that the images would transcend the test of time. Allowing us to peer back into this day for many years to come and experience all the joy it had to offer each and every time. She is a warm and caring photographer who has become much than that to us as she joined us in the journey from engagement pictures, to bridal portraits, and the final exit from the reception. Kristin helped to make this a very special experience for us, and we greatly appreciate her guidance in helping us to enjoy our wedding from beginning to end. ~John Thorne”

Emily Metz - Hi Lindsey-
I am a young bride and we are trying to keep costs down as well. I have been flirting with the idea of using balloons in the decor, but couldn’t articulate to anyone in WI (my hometown although I live in NYC) what I was looking for until I saw your pictures. If you wouldn’t mind–could you share where you got the balloons, the feathers and the other accessories. Also–you mentioned on the Style me Pretty website that you designed your save the dates and had them printed for 32 dollars! Can you share your tips on how you designed them and where you had them printed?

Thanks for all your help, I COMPLETELY understand if you don’t want to reveal all your secrets but I feel like I’m drowning and could use the help!

Best,
Emily MetzOctober 19, 2009 – 10:23 pm
