Bloggers meet Miss Ellie Potvin…

Potvin 9

There is rarely a day that I don’t lift my hands up to the Lord and thank Him for EVERYTHING! The day that I learned of Miss Ellie Potvin, I threw my arms up EXTRA HARD! I received an email from Laurie Gattis with Gobsmacked Events and INSTANTLY knew I had to be part! This is what I read…

_____________

Hello all,
Today is no ordinary Monday… My heart is breaking by the second as I learn more and more about this family, and I feel compelled to reach out to as many people as I possibly can. Please forward as you see fit. (I apologize in advance if you receive duplicates of this email as I am sending to so many people)

I returned a phone call today to a potential client who called inquiring about my planning services for an upcoming birthday party for twin girls to be held in just a few short weeks. I talked to a friend of the Potvin family as she discussed her hopes of pulling together a birthday party for these soon to be 8 year old girls that would not be forgotten.

This family received news a few days ago, that Ellie Potvin’s cancer is back, and 10% curable with the best therapy. You must visit Ellie’s website below to gain full understanding of what this family is facing.

Without hesitation, I offered to help in any way possible. I will do whatever I can to attempt to take some of the focus off of the tragic news that was delivered to them this week, and make this day incredibly special for them.

I am reaching out to everyone I can to share this tragic story in hopes of bringing more people together to fight cancer in children! I hope to gain resources from those who provide to assist the Potvin family in celebrating their twin daughters’ 8 years of life at their birthday party on October 30th. If you feel that you can offer assistance, please let me know! Thank you for your consideration.

During my drive over, I cried the whole way. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Would Ellie be feeling ill? Would there be lots of tears because of this terrible news? How in the world do parents handle these situations??? I can’t help but cry as I type this…UGH! But as I stepped off that elevator I was immediately filled with spirit. I heard the sounds of The Monster Mash playing in the background, I stared in awe and amazement at the delicious details that Laurie and her partner planned, but most importantly I saw a gorgeous Miss America running about smiling and laughing as though only sugar and spice ran through her blood. It was heaven!

So, I pray for her and her family everyday. I hope these images will always bring out rays of sunshine during their darkest moments. I’m eternally grateful to have been part of capturing this special time in this precious baby girl’s life.

For a larger glimpse, here is their Monster Mash SLIDESHOW!
