A New Year for the mind, body and spirit.

Happy 2011!

“Mind, body and spirit…”

I have never been big on resolutions.  I honestly just try to live everyday…happy.  Positive.  Peaceful.  All year long.

But this year I have decided to try an implement a few resolutions that will help me become an overall stronger and healthier human.  Not only for myself, but for my husband, my twinkies, my family and friends.  It’s time to exercise it all…my exterior and interior.

To my mind…

You love to align yourself with those who are braver, kinder, wiser, smarter…more intelligent.  You learn from them.  You soak up their knowledge, praying that a small piece of them will rub off making you simply…a better person.  You are always longing to push, seek and listen to everything near and dear to you.  So my little mind, I want more for you…in the form of more personal relationships.  And nope, not the facebook kind.  I want you to dive into new people.  Face-to-face.  People that will stimulate you.  That you will grow to love strong.  I know this will be challenging as we are set in our ways, but I have faith that you will step further out and allow 12 new people over the course of 12 months into your personal life.

To my body…

Oh boy, you certainly are one to reckon with…so I’m going to keep you simple.  You are beautiful.  You bear the markings of two precious children that you would gladly give your life for.  I know you have your moments.  Moments of vanity and pride.  But you are quickly reminded by your husband’s affection towards you that extreme measures need not be taken.  Despite your change over the last ten years, he still desires you just as much.  So, I am challenging you to health.  I am challenging you to incorporate fruits, veggies and protein everyday.  I am still allowing you wine!  And chocolate…just in moderation.  Your biggest challenge this year…to cross that Cooper River Bridge 10K finish line!

And to my spirit…

You alone are my gift.  I praise God daily that you are alive and well within Him.  You live by faith and grace.  You don’t question, you just believe.  I am so in love with you.  So to you, my strong, loving, undying spirit…I challenge you to this.  Read the bible front to back.  Highlight.  Learn.  Get lost in the word.  Get involved with a Life Group.  Surround yourself by the Holy Spirit and those who live by the Holy Spirit.  I can only imagine what you will do with this power of knowledge!
