“God bless the moon and God bless me…”
Right around 7:30pm each night, our world is surrounded by two running “naked-babies” (a game the twinks made up) who are screaming, laughing, bed-jumping, water splashing, Scope-swishing (yes, I let them try it once and now they are addicted), good-night storytelling and on bended knees praying. While it is an exhausting time (and often nights requires me heading straight back down the stairs to pour a glass of wine), I know that the sweetest moment is soon to come…
“Mommy, can I have one more hug and a kiss?”
Always together, they round the corner of our staircase (just like they did two years ago in this image) to run to give me one last bedtime hug and kiss. It melts my heart completely. And as they round the corner going back up I hear…
“I love you mommy. I love you most. Sweetdreams.”
I will miss our staircase.
