I’m baaaaaack!!

“…and oh what a feeling!”

Today marks my first official day back in the studio since having closed on our new home…what a relief!  Of course we are over-the-moon to be in (and settled I might add) – getting there was a battle.  The process of purchasing a house in a distressed stated has definitely been one of the most taxing things my husband and I have experienced.  We knew going in that patience would be of the utmost importance, and those who know me know that I unfortunately have very little (and my hubby has been informing me lately that I’m getting worse with age).  ARG!  Gotta work on that…

Okay – back to the move.  We closed.  We celebrated.  Then it was time to work.  You know…that hard core, sun-up to sun-down, achy body, physically exhausted kind of work?!  We hired a painting company to come and and paint the entire house from top to bottom, but not before ripping out the carpet in the entire house.  After 3 days, 15 painters and 4 carpet installers…we had fresh ceilings, walls, trim, doors, shutters and new carpet throughout!  It has been completely fascinating to watch it all come together.

Moving day was last Monday.  That only took 3 movers, my hubby, my mother-in-law and myself 8 hours.  Piece of cake in 100 degree weather.  Needless to say, we all slept especially hard that night.  Thank you, Lord for keeping Bray and Addy healthy and free from sickness so that we could all get the rest we needed each night.  Tuesday we started getting things settled and by Thursday we had all boxes unpacked, organized and the house spic and span!  Friday we attempted to rest, but between security systems and new neighbors stopping in we had little time to sit on the couch and unwind before having to grab the twinks from school.

Then it was Saturday…wedding day!

Sunday?  We did rest (as much as you can with three year old’s running amuck).  We attempted to see the Smurfs…only to be told it was sold out.  Boo.  My poor babies were so bummed.  But we made up for it by grilling some steaks with the Thorne’s and watching Bray and Addy shake their booties to Ice Ice Baby – the perfect end to a crazy week!

Now I sit like dead weight in front of my computer culling through beautiful imagery from this past weekend’s wedding feeling so thankful.  Thankful for our home.  Thankful for our health.  Thankful to be doing what I love.  Just crazy thankful.

(~oh~ and thankful to get to photograph hot wedding shoes like these…)
