Meet Katie + Andy…
“Apple of my eye…”
It truly is the most wonderful time of year…and sharing a piece of it with Katie and Andy has been spectacular!
Last week we headed out to Belmont-Abbey College to play “school” (haha…I don’t know about you, but I played school a lot when I was little…and house too! I was always the teacher or mom…go figure!)!! As many of you know, engagement sessions are my favs! It is a time for us to play, have fun and photograph YOU. YOU. And more YOU! Each and every session is approached with your style, your inspiration and your personalities in mind. In this case, Katie is a school teacher – so the images very much speak part of who she is as a person, but with a little fashionable twist. Add in an extremely FUN and HANDSOME soon-to-be-groom, who was more than willing to show his sassy-side (gotta love a man who will wear a yellow bow tie partnered with red pants!), and viola…we captured THEM!
I think the greatest thing about the engagement session is the start-to-finish experience. Hanging out in the studio, drinking early morning coffee (or sometimes champagne/wine), chit-chatting while hair and makeup is happening (thanks, Lindsey Regan Thorne), listening to music…just getting to know one another. Once we hit the location – BAM – everyone is completely comfortable with one another. Then the art begins – no inhibitions – just me + you (+ “the walking party” during this session, aka – LRT)!! I cannot imagine it any other way now…it is simply an amazing time!
SO – here we are…four days later and their images are currently uploading, and I’m sharing their day with the world. Absolutely delish!
A special thanks to my phenom team – Lindsey Regan Thorne (styling/hair/makeup/flower cutter/painter) and Liz Connolly (check out that heart!!). Piecing everything together…together was a blast!! I heart a mean glue gun!!
And to Katie + Andy…thank you for choosing me! Very much looking forward to April 2011!
