Bloggers meet Emily + Matt (aka…Brian!)…

Ahhh…the pressure of a name! Guilty as charged, I did it…I forgot HIS name! We were just about to start shooting and I went to call the name, “Brian” and then instantly hesitated because I didn’t truly remember if HIS name was in fact, “Brian!” OH MY GOSH – he called me out!! “What’s my name?” he asked. I replied, “Ummmm…Brian?” Meanwhile, Emily was mouthing his name to me in the background, “M A T T ! !” HUMILIATION was the first feeling that took over. How in the world did I do this…forget my dude’s name?!?! Thankfully, it rolled into laughter – however I could NOT STOP calling him, “Brian!” I kept doing it!! Not on purpose – but truly, I guess I feel like he looks like a Brian. I will say – I have four grooms this year named, “Brian” and many of them have been talked about lately as we’ve been working hard on our 2010 production schedule. UGH – still, I can promise that will never happen again!! Sorry, Brian – I mean, Matt! xoxo

My sugar-sweet, Lindsey Regan Thorne and I set out for Pinehurst at 4am this past Tuesday. First look – a game of crouquet followed by a little stop on the side of the road. It is deliciously fun to shoot a session that is truly reflective of the couple. I cannot WAIT to get this beauty back in front of the lens this July – Charleston bridals here we come!! Emily and I were meant to be…we share the same birthday AND she is set to marry the very same day my husband and I tied the knot – September 25th (this is year TEN for us!) WOW!

I hope you enjoy a little Emily + Brian (opps…see, I did it again!), MATT!! They certainly were a treat to spend the morning with. xoxo

Meet Jack…

Bloggers meet an incredibly precious baby boy, Jack Kauflin…

I have never met Jack, however I feel like I know him… and I definitely know that I love him!

Jack’s family is a very close and personal family friend of my studio manager, Liz Connolly. She learned of little Jack’s leukemia diagnosis three days after her wedding – and she has been sharing his journey with me lately. Since becoming a mother, my heart is much more sensitive – especially when it involves a sick child. While it reminds me of just how blessed my family is to have our health, I am also reminded of how life can change in an instant. One minute you have a vibrant, healthy little boy (and thinking his sickness is no more than a common cold), and then the next minute you hear, “I’m sorry, your son has leukemia.”

I can’t help but wonder how I would personally take this kind of news. Would I drop to my knees throwing my fists up at God asking, “Why?!” Would I fall into a deep depression and simply not know how to function? Or would I act as that mom…that mom who has the strength of a Gladiator? That mom whom no one person can break? That mom who will place it all in His hands and know that whatever the outcome is…it was always what He had planned? I pray that I would be Tali…that mom. Jack’s mom.

Yesterday, Liz brought it to my attention that Jack’s parents are requesting hats! hats! hats!! You have to read this blog post – it is AMAZING!!!

My husband is donating one of his big league hats (oh, and all of my ball player wifey friends…I’m comin’ after ya!!). Will you please help us celebrate this little boy’s life? In spirit and honor of his family’s courage, strength and faithfulness to God?

I am Vickie Vining’s sister. Travis’s wife. An inspiring story for little Jack’s parents. I grew up with a boy and best friend named David. He too at age 3 was diagnosed with Leukemia. He is now 36 years old. Long battle but a survivor. It can be done and God watches over these Angels!!!! He’s an amazing person and a true inspiration!!! Bloggers meet Sarah + Clark…

Spring wedding season has officially bloomed!! And what better way to kick it off than with Sarah + Clark!

We arrived at The Palisades Country Club on a warm, spring afternoon – not a cloud in the sky. The music was playing, the girls were dancing, the boys where relaxing – it was the perfect start to what turned out to be the perfect day!

Sarah and Clark are freshly back from their paradise honeymoon in St. John. I am utterly proud to have been part of this special time in their lives, and even more so to be part of their family and friends. It won’t be long before we have three past brides…Sarah, Lindsey (Sarah’s sis) and Abbee (the bride who started it all…haha!) coming together once again for our camera’s at the Hovis-Egnor wedding at Bray’s Island in May.

Thank you, Sarah and Clark. I adore, love and cherish you dearly!
