“The beauty of length…”

It all started last 4th of July.  Seeing her in that Chanel swimsuit left me (1) jaw-dropped…wow! and (2) I want her on camera!

She is former runway model who has traveled the world.  But funny enough, she was too tall for many designers (she is 6’1).  So she has harnessed that fashion background is now a rising designer at NY Bride!

First question one might think to ask this blonde bombshell, “Do you eat?”

SHE DOES!!!

And that makes me all the more envious.  ha!

Genetics.  What a beautiful gift!

We had all but a second to photograph these couple of shots at dusk, but nonetheless so glad we got them in.  I got her and the suit!!

Stay tuned for their beautiful family session next!

Thanks to my little momma nugget, Lindsey Regan Thorne for the delish hair/makeup.

The “Great Henry” Baby Shower

“The Bee’s Knees baby shower of the year!!”

I am so excited to be part of a great group of girls planning what we have dubbed, “The Great Henry Shower!”

Inspired by our (and Lindsey’s) love for all things Gatsby and vintage-glam, we are converting the bottom level of our home into a ‘wingding’ that will have everyone dancing, celebrating and raising a glass in honor of…John Henry Thorne!

The old wedding planner in me knew that the invite would set the tone for what was to come…so we had to go big or go home.

One of Lindsey’s dearest friends (Kristen…remember her!) and I started at Jo Ann’s fabrics to gather inspiration.  And that is when the creative collaborative magic began.

Here is how to make these yourself!

JoAnn’s:  Three layers of different textured paper, feathers, pewter baby pins.

Paper Source:  Luxe Cream A7 Box Mailers and Washi Tape (Gold)

Office Depot:  Washi Tape (Black), Pearlized Ivory Avery Labels (for shipping), clear seals (tape sides for shipping), double stick tape, presentation matte paper (for image) and a glue gun.

Voila!

Beautiful box invitations!!

Uptown Charlotte Wedding | Tia + Carlos

“Togetherness…”

She is a fierce and crazy-talented professional makeup artist.  He is a completely off-the-chain-funny and wicked talented professional basketball player.

Together they will bring you to your knees laughing.

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Powell.

It was a beautiful, picture-perfect Sunday afternoon.  The wedding suite was calm, relaxed…almost dreamy.  Time did not exist.  Only us.  Art.  And one crazy party ahead.

In the wide world of sports, many professional athletes do not have the luxury of planning.  Trades, moves, conditioning and so on…leaves a lot to the unknown.  And basketball does not stop because you are getting married.

By the grace of God, they were able to plan a post ceremony celebration before he had to hop a plane to Vegas (yep…that very same celebration party night) for the next years draft.

It’s a crazy (and not as glamourous as one might think) life.

Nonetheless, they are blissfully happy and ready to conquer this beautiful life…together.
