Whitney + Travis | Fort Mill, SC Engagement Session

“Blush and bashful…”

I had totally forgotten.  When I first spoke with this beauty’s momma, she did inform me of her daughter’s ‘lack of desire’ to be (1) the center of attention and (2) on camera.  Yikes!

Perhaps it was a good thing that I had…I may have worked myself up too much and then miserably failed.

It was approached just like each and every one of our shoots…”Let’s Play!”

Whitney is a soft-spoke, southern angel from the Lord above.  She is a nurse…in a Hospice home no less.  What a calling!  She enriches, cares and holds close the lives of so many in their darkest times.  Her demeanor is crazy charismatic.  She’s that gal that truly defines the saying, “Wouldn’t hurt a fly!”

And then there is our Travis.  What a TRIP!  A country boy with a true southern style.  He can rock out a pair of seer sucker pants and cowboy boots like no other!

Can you believe these two have known each other since PRESCHOOL!  That is crazy!  To think that my own twinks could right now be in the same room as their future spouse mystifies me!  What a gift!

Whit and Trav…so excited for our upcoming Laboratory Mills Wedding together.  WOOT!

“Whitney just shared her pictures with us and we are thrilled!  Most important, Whitney is very happy.  There are so many good shots.  As you have gathered by now (I’m sure!), she does not like having her picture taken and is not comfortable being the center of attention.  That is a bad combination for a bride!  I knew choosing the right photographer would be the most important decision we would make in planning her wedding.  To give us this many memories is nothing short of a miracle.  I’ve read a number of times where girls refer to your “God-given talent.”  They don’t even know!  You outdid yourself today.  Right now, my family thinks I’m a genius!  Whitney thinks you are wonderful and now she knows with confidence that she will have beautiful wedding pictures.  Thanks again.  We are on an absolute high tonight! ” ~ Diana (Mother of the Bride)

Jen + Lee | Highlands, NC Engagement Session

“Country chic and sweet, watermelon love…”

When I first laid eyes on the beautiful, Jen a few weeks ago at Old Edwards Inn she instantly reminded of me a beautiful Kate Spade ad.  Dressed in a knee length accordion skirt and cardigan, I was totally smitten!  She is a beauty both inside and out.  And Lee, well he went over, above and beyond to help bring this precious look together (he even picked out her precious red dress…how sweet is that!).  And…not to mention that he totally worked and played up the lens!

The love, laughter, style and beauty was all around us that gorgeous North Carolina morning.  Complete with romantic kisses and chicken dancing.  Yep!!  We totally played!!

What a beautiful couple!  I can’t think of a better way to end my 2013 wedding season than in their presence this upcoming November (and to see what they along with Carolina Wedding Design plan!).

“I am either laughing or holding back my laughter in all of our engagement photos, largely due to how much fun we were having with Kristin and Lindsey.  Being photographed is something I was afraid of, but with Kristin’s guidance I gained a confidence that I didn’t imagine would be possible.  Lee and I had a blast taking in the beautiful scenery in the Highlands!”  ~ Jen

Many thanks to, Lindsey Regan Thorne for all beauty and to the Lick Log Mill Store for your hospitality!

Lena + Greg | Cypress Trees Plantation Wedding

“A deep south love affair…”

She is a breath of fresh air.  The kinda gal that says it like she means it, leaving you wanting to ‘Live like Lena!”  He on the other hand is her perfect balance.  The strong-silent type.  What a match…and very much reminds me of my husband and I.  Opposites attract, and boy does it make for pulling out the best in each other!

Our time together has been nothing short of beautiful.  From their gorgeous Lancaster, South Carolina engagement to this remarkable Edisto Beach, SC wedding…my goodness what a treat it has been!  She sure did know the way to this momma’s heart!

Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Harris!
